1. Make exercise part of your daily routine, like brushing your teeth and taking a shower. If you don't have the time to go to the gym you can do lunges, sit ups and push ups at home. Anything is better than nothing. Stop making excuses just get up an hour or two earlier, the pay off is well worth it.
2. Fat free does not mean calorie free, so eat in moderation. Don't go to pinkberry and order a large yogurt and think your eating healthy, it is full of sugar and empty calories. I've learned to eat anything I want but in smaller portions.
3. A sure fire way to stay slim is the minute you feel you've gained a pound or two, cut down on what you eat for a few days and increase your cardio till your back to your ideal weight. If you do this, you will never have to do any major dieting.
4. I have also given up artificial sweeteners, even though they are low in calories they bloat you and make you retain water. Stop using equal, spenda and sweet & low for a week and you will notice a huge difference.
5. Change up your exercise routine regularly, so your body doesn't plateau. I incorporate pilates, yoga, dance, boxing, and running stairs into my work outs.
